In The Lab

Workspace photography is some of the most fascinating stuff.  Maybe it's the nosey voyeur in me (how about we instead say curious); I don't know.  What I do know is that I love seeing the process at work when it comes to those who possess great talent.  Peeking into somebody's workspace is a cheap and easy way to do just that.

My favorite kind of workspace/creative process photography has to be that of musicians in the studio. Whether hashing out their ideas, knee deep in a jam session or just kickin' it the captured moment in time, as a still, juxtaposed with the flurry of creative energy behind the image hits me hard right where it truly matters.  Witnessing inspiration being fleshed out into something tangible is what in turn inspires me on a daily basis to try and do the very same.  My cubicle at work or my apartment isn't exactly the same thing, but on a much less grandiose scale I often feel like I'm in "the lab" myself.

  2. That picture of Johnny Cash is great. Makes you wonder what's on his mind.
