Tie One On For Nicer Days Pt. II
Due in part to my irresponsible lack of bow ties in the previous post and a reminder from Wiener Girls (nice username btw) to check out the new stock at The Cordial Churchman, here are some more crazy cheap and crazy awesome S/S neckwear options. At $23-ish a pop I may have to snag around, I don't know, 50 of these.

All nice but bow ties seem to be have been hijacked by faux-joe-schmoe-dandies.
ReplyDeleteDandies?
Identi-kit-dandies.
It's the total antithesis of what they're aping.
For me, bowties are for tuxes. They come off as fake otherwise.
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm glad you like them so much. I'm the one who made these bow ties. I am so excited for spring to get here so that my husband will get to start wearing them. My favorite from the ties you've selected is the orange/pink/blue madras tie (the Owen Madras). It's so lovely. Thank-you for your support.
ReplyDeleteEllie- "People doing things right" deserve all the press in the world! Your bow ties are amazing.
ReplyDeleteLove the one second from top. Beautiful colors, design and texture!
ReplyDeleteLove the first one. Hopefully I can free up some cash.
ReplyDeleteLove these bow ties! Great fabric too.
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty fly. All, except maybe the seersucker, would look great on race day come spring.
ReplyDeleteGood looking out for Ellie. She's an amazing craftswoman and such a pleasure to work with.
ReplyDeleteI will vouch for the quality of Ellie's bow ties. I ordered one from her a little while back and then had her convert a long time into a bow for me. Definitely worth the price, which is already a steal.
ReplyDeleteTo Enthusiast-
I'm not really sure what you mean as bow ties being fake? What is there to be faking, especially if you tie it yourself?
Glad I inspired a post. I haven't ordered one from her yet, but I have been looking for quite a while and being from the Carolinas, you need seersucker and madras in the summertime.
ReplyDelete@ Trip - I just can't pull bowties off. Nothing against bowties, but I'm uncomfortable wearing them in casual settings. Plus, I live in central PA, not the South (where that sort of thing is fair game).
ReplyDeleteBow ties worn casually are an affectation.
ReplyDeletethose listed are great, but as with all things there is a good & poor time to pull em out.
that situation will come and its best writing for.
