Outside/Inside The Box

Rugby has some new madras shirting that is doing a pretty good job of thinking both outside and inside the box.  Now, I realize that may sound ridiculous, but both the following shirts take elements we've all seen before and are doing something a little different at the same time.  The madras pullover is the more simplistic of the two and really only made this post due to the fact that it's one of the only popovers (no need to fret over semantics) in the fabric I have seen hit the market so far.  Interestingly enough its placket is even more abbreviated than normal (3 buttons vs. 4 or 5) and resembles more of a polo than anything else.  The other shirt that caught my attention is a madras chambray club collar.  Just typing that seemed like a little bit of overkill because it utilizes so many current, popular aspects of shirting, but I think the end product is pretty cool.  It's a wholly original summer take on the two tone club collar I just talked about last week - I can dig it.  I guess the point I was trying to make was that if you are fiending for some new madras for the warm weather it might make sense to find something that not only fits in the classical paradigm, but also shifts it as well.

  1. I like the pullover, although the placket looks a little short. Great colors, and should fade nicely.

Did you see the "madras tuxedo oxford"? I'm speechless.
