Style Icon: Benjamin Button
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button clocks in at a brutal 3 hours, but the style in this movie is beyond incredible. I'll let the screenshots here do all the talking as decades upon decades of garment iconography are compellingly styled with both ease and expertise (I got a little carried away just now, sorry). ReplyDeleteholy hell, does anyone else think Ben looks just like Brad Pitt? Weird.
ReplyDeleteNo lie, I watch this movie all the time whenever I'm in need of some sartorial inspiration - or just inspiration in general( I find the whole "it's never too late to be who you wanna be" dialogue near the end to be very rousing). I've been trying to find the eyeglasses from the 6-7th and 10-14th images from the top forever, but haven't been able to track them down. I know they're not rayb's wayfarers or clubmasters. If anyone has more luck finding out let me know.

DeleteApar from the costumes, there was nothing of substance in this movie, but I must admit that to some extent it was worth watching for the costumes.

ReplyDeleteJust saw this a few weeks ago. The film looked good, story was eh. The style was cool, but I felt deja vu a few times, as if they were having Brad reference Redford, Newman or McQueen in certain scenes.
ReplyDeletehated the fashion knockoff fako belstaff jacket but the rest of that movie was awesome...I blogged about it...the belstaff jackets stuck out like sore thumbs in the movie
ReplyDeleteThe scenes with him in the cardi and the motorcycle cruise through the woods were my favorite looks for sure. I actually think the New Orleans backdrop was what did it for me aesthetically.

ReplyDeleteexcellent screen shot pulls - i wish i had only just seen that slide show instead of sitting through the thousand year long movie (towards the end of it, i actually thought to myself in the theater 'i can't remember a time when i wasn't watching this movie').

Nice one. I remember being struck by that camel jacket when I saw it. And word, this was a hard 3 hours to sit through.
