  1. This all just bring me back to the summer of '95 when just about EVERY album that dropped was an instant classic. Great times and great post.

  2. Best. Biggie. Post. Ever. On a men's style blog. Quote me on that.

  3. Just a heads up. That is not a Presidential Rollie. Thats just a crazy bejeweled Datejust.

  4. Drizzy Drake- I realize that. His Datejust is the most baller watch of all time though.

  5. I always though it was "every cutie with a bootie want a Gucci." I realize he wore Coogi sweaters. But, in context, he is talking about the designer clothes he buys for girls from different cities, so Gucci seems like it makes more sense.

Every lyric website I can find seems to back your transcription. I just can't figure out why a cutie with a bootie would buy a Coogi. Am I missing something?

  6. Daedalus- I take it to mean that no matter where one of his girls is from he still keeps 'em laced in Coogi. Coogi makes stuff for girls and Big must have really dug it not just for himself.

  7. Interesting. I didn't realize he "stays Coogi down to the socks" on One More Chance, either. I always thought that line was Gucci as well. In retrospect, I should have realized that Gucci isn't really the first choice for plus-sized guys.

The man really loved his Coogi-- and not just the sweaters. Apparently, Coogi has not been shy about capitalizing on this.

  9. BJ- Yeah, I saw those last week. Great call, but at this point I'm just going to save up for a pair of Mashburns.

  10. Not to continue with the nitpicking because I do love this post, but well, aren't Wallows a type of vintage Adidas? (vintage as in, I'm not sure they make them anymore)http://gallery.threestripes.co.uk/main.php?g2_itemId=11835

  11. Stephen- I'm pretty sure Biggie is talking about Wallabees as I cannot imagine him ever wearing those. Not to mention NY rappers were all over Wallabees in the 1990's (see: Wu Tang).

  12. LAS - glad to hear you say that, cause those Wallows are far less cool than the Clarks.

  13. LAS:"I'm just going to save up for a pair of Mashburns."

...The Mashburns do look very nice but I'm not sure $200 more nice.....as an aside one of the brown double monks(now sold out) that Tyrwhitt had on their site looked suspiciouly like the Mashburn to me with the high curved cutout on the double strap.
