Crokett & Jones Double Monk

Shout outs to Ken from Things Is Cool for feeding my insatiable double monk appetite.  I had seen some pretty beat shots of the C&J double monk before, but nothing that really highlighted just how amazing the shoes actually are - impressive shoes deserve impressive pictures, no?  It's late on a Thursday night, a better time than any for a little shoe porn...behave yourself.

  1. Mmmm...tasty. I wonder if I should take them out to dinner first or should I just get right to it?

  2. Those are some damn fine monks. I remember rocking some single-buckle monks in high school. Either Giorgio Brutinis or Zodiacs. One day during 4th or 5th period, the buckle came apart from the shoe. I had to spend the rest of the day with scotch tape holding my shoe closed.

I have a feeling these are made a little bit better than those were.

  3. They are great looking shoes LAS. I suspect that if they can be found in the US (Barneys?) they are probably going to cost around 700 bucks.....now as it happens they have the perfect clone of this shoe(made by Loake I believe) in black only on sale at Charles Tyrwhitt for around $325....it can be found on the website or at their Madison Av. store.....as an aside the double monk style of shoe is enormously popular in Paris based on my observations.

  4. Brummagen Joe- Can you link me to the Loakes because the only double monk I have seen from them looks nothing like this one.

  5. "Can you link me to the Loakes"

I don't know that it was made by Loake this was just what a girl in the store told me and I'm unfamiliar with the Loake product range never having bought any (I'm a Church's guy myself).....however here is a link to the Tyrwhitt shoe which looks fairly similar to the CJ to me and probably at less than half the price.

  6. LAS:

As a ps to the above I see the link just takes you to their site so you'll have to dig around in sale shoes to find it....they also had brown versions and similar brown versions but these appear largely sold out....it doesn't look quite as refined as the CJ but for those suffering monk addiction and unable to blow 700+ on a pair of shoes it's not a bad substitute.

  8. they look handgrade, but as i know, handgrade didn't make this style, the handgrade double monk strap has no cap toe.

if you can be so kind to let me know when and where did you get these? thank you!
