Malik Shabazz

"Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery."  Happy 85th birthday to a man who was nothing short of influential, controversial and one hell of a snappy dresser.

    I've been trying to determine just what it takes to be able to pull off those wonderful glasses Malcom always wore. I think, looking at all the pictures of him, it comes down to having a strong jaw. The weight of the jawline allows you to pull off the heavy brows of the glasses.

    He looks comfortable in his clothes, confident in his being. Maybe we should consider great style, like courage, to be a morally ambiguous virtue.

    According to the UN, while the % is smaller, the absolute number of slaves in the world today is higher than ever.

    Most slaves are from Africa and are held in Muslim countries.

    The truth hurts sometimes.
