Triwa Watch Straps

Since 2006 Triwa has been making a variety of colorful watches for all the eccentrics who feel the need to know what time it is (this is about the point where a grumpy old man would yell, "Get a job you bum!").  Specially for S/S 2010 Triwa has branched out and created their own NATO straps for their own and all other watches alike.  The straps aren't revolutionary, but I know how hard it is to track certain bands down so it's good to see the supply side of the market increase - actually, I'm not sure if I've seen anything like the "Jamaican" strap before.  All models come in both 20 and 22 mm sizes so all off us rocking with non 18 mm joints can finally oneup our skinny banded brethren.

  1. Purple or Orange would definitely throw a curve ball to your watch-strap collection. I would definitely rock both.

  2. Loving the red, white, and blue one. It reminds me of one of my high school track medals. -Mel

  4. Hey LAS, i need your incredible internet sleuthing skills. I'm really digging the J. Crew military Timex watch but not for $150. Could you recommend one with similar style and size for <$50?

  5. AK, Maybe a wee bit out of your price range, but I just bought this citizen and had the straps removed:

    http://www.amazon.com/Citizen-BM8180-03E-Eco-Drive-Canvas-Strap/dp/B000EQS1JW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=watches&qid=1272555124&sr=8-1

It works with all of the 18mm straps from JCrew, Smart Turnout, etc. Way better than the Timex.

  6. Check military surplus websites like USCavalry.com and armyuniverse.com for their watch selection -- the vintage military watch style is ubiquitous and you can easily find the same look much, much cheaper than the Timex J.Crew version.

  8. AK, this isn't a military watch, but I just picked up this incredibly cheap Timex (and the olive strap gives it a bit of a military look):

Might want to also check out this (also really cheap):

  9. AK- I always hit Amazon or eBay for the steals, but it appears some proactive readers have some great recommendations as well.

  10. red, white and blue and the red and blue are nice, seen them done everywhere tho..other colors are way to bright for me as a wrist band, even for S/S

  11. I got the Citizen BM8180-30E watch before I read this site and I'm pretty proud of myself. I got the J Crew Deep Olive band and I'm so psyched that I still spent less than $90. Now I can buy any color J Crew strap (on sale of course with additional savings were I can find them) and be compatible.
