Varsity Champions Of The World

I don't know about you, but I would have never pegged UNIONMADE as the kind of guys who would absolutely shut down the varsity jacket game.  That shit is usually best left to Supreme or some other streetwear meets menswear establishment.  But low and behold, it's our friends out in San Francisco who are doing it the best right now, though I am waiting for more pics of Gant Rugger's F/W 2010 Burgundy joint.  When we last left the varsity champs they were killing it with their cotton collaboration with San Francisco local Golden Bear.  As if that jacket alone wasn't enough, these guys got together for a sequel that somehow bests the original offering - the outerwear equivalent to The Godfather II (side note: anyone besides me prefer The Lost World: Jurassic Park to Jurassic Park?).  Enter the freshly released melton wool varsity in both navy and heather grey.  Damn, these things are beautiful.  If you're still on the hunt for that perfect varsity, and who isn't these days, you probably just met your match.  Game.  Set.  Match.

  1. Why do they call themselves Unionmade when their clothes aren't union made?

Why does it matter? They pulled the money together to open their own store... they can name it whatever they want!

  3. So can they they sell a "Woolmelton" coat made out of acrylic?

If their goods aren't union made, they are a fraud, even if not in the stricly legal sense,.

  5. Anon @10:56- For real dude? One varsity jacket post and this is suddenly Hypebeast. I must have missed HB's recap of MB S/S 2011 and their post on Tory Leather. Relax holmes.

  6. Yo L, I know it's not your game, nor is it mine, but thought you may enjoy this post on some of Michael Kors womens gear. He did some dope crewneck sweatshirt-inspired pieces.

    I'd love some feedback.

  7. these are money, perfect colors...sorry but I have to go with the original JP, that movie blew me away when i was younger and I'm still digging that Jeep Wrangler.

  8. really on the JP/LW tip? Was it bc of the swimming pool scene? Or the gymnast Raptor scene?

    I prefer Blade 2 to 1 though...

  9. These jackets are hot. I pre-ordered the cotton jacket. I've got enough warm winter coats, which is why I passed on the latest edition. Superman II, Empire Strikes Back, yeah, on rare occasions do sequels outdo the original. I consider this a push.

Geez, leave it to a few to shit up a thread. Great blog, btw.

  10. You're out of your mind if you like Lost World better than the Jurassic Park.

They're both miles ahead of Jurassic Park III though, that movie is just terrible.

  11. I've been on the hunt for this purple varsity jacket Nautica put out like, 4 years ago. Never been able to find it. These ones by Unionmade are damn nice though, and I'd be happy "settling" with one of these for the fall season. Good looking out, I didn't hear about these until you mentioned them.
