Quod-nificent

I must have missed the memo on Quoddy's online store.  Until today I was under the distinct impression you had to seek out a stockist carrying a collaboration or whatever (at the very least a catalog), but apparently you can go straight to the source.  I'm sure nobody is trying to see anymore boat shoes on the blog today, but what the hell.  There is no need to go into the whole hand sewn, Horween leather, best deck shoes on the market conversation so instead I'll leave you guys with some beautiful imagery of some beautiful shoes (just look at the navy chukkas and boots).  As hard as I try I can't seem to shake my restless anticipation for spring and these are not helping one bit.

[Editor's Note: Apparently Quoddy did indeed have an online shop before, but it was very outdated.  This is apparently an upgrade as oppose to a launch.  I think I actually knew this, but erased it from my memory due to how bad it was.]

  1. It's not just the product that's ace.

They're some of best people to do business with.

Put simply, things matter to them.

  2. Boat soles on boots is maybe just one indication that this whole designerfication of trad has gone too far.

  3. These are definitely the best looking shoes you've posted today. I could be mistaken, but I think there may be a couple of weeks of lead-time on items ordered on the websites as I think they're made to order. Unfortunately, I've never ordered, from there, so I could be completely off-base.

  4. Longwing- I'm not sure I would classify Quoddy as designer and deck boots are as traditional of a nautical item you are going to find.

Trip- Thanks for always keeping me grounded.

  5. It could be argued that boat soles on boots is maybe just one indication that they are better wearing than the crepe soles Quoddy have previously offered.

  6. Does anyone here own a pair? if so, are they worth it? I'm guessing they are, but I was looking for some affirmation before I head out and purchase a pair.

  8. Cary - Yes. I own a couple of pairs, inc. the brown pair up top.

I can't fault them, they're lined so hold better shape too.

  9. I just bought a pair of the black boat shoe, it is fantastic. Feels like it will last 50 years, and is as comfortable if not more so than the sperry origonal. And to top it off I got it off ebay for $85, there up every once and a while, keep your eye out.

  11. I own the brown deck boots with the white boat sole. The boots look great and feel great. If I had to find a fault, the liner in my pair tend to slide as the day goes on. That's not a deal killer for me though and I intend on purchasing more Quoddy in the future. I have to agree with Lawrence in that I certainly would not classify Quoddy as designer and whereas there is definitely some saturation in the market at this point deck boots are not "designerfication".

  12. I remember Quoddy's old old site. It was on par with Arrow moc's site, but worse. There was certainly charm to it though, and I sort of miss the vibe. I've got a pair of the deck chukkas (the buffalo w/camp soles from Context) and they are in my top 3, easy. Wonderful shoes and are lifers. And yeah, to the guy who called Quoddy's products "designerfication"...these guys are as legit as you can get. If anything, designers are just lifting what these guys have been onto for over a century.

  13. Any site that delivers that crazy music whilst you check top notch moc's is close to faultless.

I usually look around to see where it's coming from.

    Gets me every time.
