Lusting After: WWM F/W 2010 Ranger Pants

I've had a pair of twill Woolrich Woolen Mills Ranger pants for a while now and, as it stands today, are the best pair of chinos I own.  For F/W 2010 Mr. Suzuki has done up the Ranger pant in both grey and navy herringbone wool - both of these pants are must owns as far as I am concerned.  The pants are trim fitting through the thigh and leg, yet still feature a leg opening wide enough to pair with your various boots.  The jetted pockets below the rear flap pockets may seem superfluous, but are actually quite functional especially if you don't like carrying a bag around (they are big enough for your sunglasses, spectacles, cigarettes, phone, Ipod, etc.).  The color palette for WWM F/W 2010 is pretty brooding and the Ranger pants benefit from this.  Both the grey and navy herringbone wool expertly convey a sense of dressiness and ruggedness, which pairs up great with the Ranger pant's inherent aesthetic (a classy trouser with rugged detailing).  It should be noted that these pants feature a relatively higher rise and feature a raised, split yoke in the back.  I prefer my pants to have a higher rise so I dig the look, but it's definitely not for everyone.  These are gonna look killer with a 2" cuff.

  1. I'm really into the chino ones you have of these and am also totally vibing the higher rise. Where/when can they be copped?

  3. I like the look of these, but even if I wanted to drop a deuce and a quarter on a pair of pants, they don't make 'em big enough for me. Pffft...

  4. They're too skinny, even for whoever is modeling those for context.

  5. I've got a pair of rangers as well and I'd have to agree that they're the best chinos I own. Definitely looking forward to me mustering up the guts to pull the trigger on these.

  6. I'm sipping on a bulldog sans the sangria and margarita in the SAS lounge at EWR right now. A deuce deuce quarter is a little steep for me. I guess I'm going to have to wait for gilt.

  7. You know I was looking for these on the whole of the internet because I saw ones similar in the Sewn from Soul Street Etiquette Photoshoot, now you have done a whole post on them, great post by the way! You know where else they do the same material on trousers? (I live in London UK unfortunately)

    Kwamz -

    Your Sartorial chief speaks only in a bastardized white man version of hip hop slang. It is hard for all of us to understand. I suggest using Urban Dictionary, listening to Big K.R.I.T, or watching The Wire for help. Godspeed.

    @kramz

    i'm also a brit, i don't know of anywhere that stocks these, and i don't believe context ships internationally. these will probably be available at oipolloi.com closer to autumn. however, if you're after something right now, jump the gun (a mod revival shop) make some really really good heavyweight trousers in a slim fit that are a lot more affordable - http://www.jumpthegun.co.uk/shop/Product/Index/14 have a look around

  14. Terrible pants, terrible fit. For a guy with a style blog, you sure like a lot of crap.

    Yeah, I'm gonna slip my sunglasses in those little ass pockets, that's a great idea.

  15. I'm with that other anonymous guy. The fit looks terrible- and they're way too skinny. These are fashion pants. If you want classic, timeless style stick with a straight leg.

  17. At all the people whining like babies that these are too skinny. IT'S ONE FIT PIC. And it's taken by context. You can't exactly judge it on just that - the model is wearing pretty high boots and you can't know if they've sized up or down. Angles can be deceitful as well. Have a look at Oi Polloi's pictures - http://www.oipolloi.com/store/WoolrichWoolenMills-RangerPantNavy-12903.html
    It doesn't look too skinny at all. Ignore their measurements though, they take them with elastic tape measures. Seriously.

  19. @patrick kicklighter HAHAHA! I dig dude, I need to or I am going to get know where (I hope dig was used in the correct context :P)

    @Will Thanks a lot will! I am actually in no rush but I would like to get them in the next month or so, the link you posted I do like those pants but they are just not like the on in LAS's post. It looks like I have to wait till the autumn then

    Thanks Once again
