(capsule) NY: Eastland Made In Maine Collecton

No branding? Horween leather? Made in Maine? Sounds more like the Eastland of yesteryear than the shoes they currently sell.  To celebrate their 55th anniversary Eastland is releasing a high end collection of made in Maine hardbottoms, boots, boat shoes and mocs.  The construction and materials are absolutely top notch and must be seen in person to be truly appreciated.  I love this collection for obvious reasons and look forward to seeing who plans on stocking specific styles.  The prices are fairly competitive as well so it will be interesting to see how the Americana set reacts to this move.

  1. This all looks extremely legit. Gonna keep my eye on these.

Similar in pricing to comparable Quoddys?

  4. Was a little confused looking at this collection from a company that makes some blatant pastiches.

But the shoes are so sick! I especially liked the pearly blue-gray leather, but I don't know how many people are going to stock that color. Guy at the booth said "yeah, people seem to like brown."

  5. So seriously. What is this? Why is Quoddy doing this for Eastland? Looks like another Americana bandwagoner to me. Gah.

  7. I'd like to see how the bluchers compare to Quoddy's current offerings.

  8. Got the olive Falmouth moccasins today and am very impressed.I own Quoddy bluchers, dawson and boat shoes. The Eastland are equal to the Quoddy's IMHO and have an even thicker sole which I am partial to. All in all a very well made shoe and the olive color is killer with jeans and khaki's.

  9. The Father/ Son sales team of Jim and Jordan were awesome, as they represented the line @ capsule. The line is sick and brings back the nastalgia of all things good american made.
