Wale Week

Two corduroy post in two days might not be as epic as this, but you get the drift.  If you're like me then you probably need some new wide wale cords in your life.  I rarely buy corduroy anything so whatever I've got in my closet presently is worn down to the point that you could easily mistake them all for old ass pairs of chinos.  Right now Brooks Brothers is cranking out their seasonal clearance sale with a bunch of pants up to 50% off.  My favorite of the bunch are these wide wale Milano cords in a healthy shade of brown known as "persimmon" - BB calls 'em "luxurious".  Wide wale cords are a little bit of a statement these days, especially considering all the micro cord gear floating around the J. Crews and Gaps of the word, but you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer pair of corduroy pants (unless you camp out The Bay for Bastian cords) that can equally go between your morning commute and your weekend jaunts.  I like to keep mine creased and cuffed, but that's purely a personal choice.  It's not everyday that you find a great pair of pants for the upcoming season that also happen to be on clearance, so if your size is stocked you might want to think about diving into the wale infested waters.  This concludes your Wes Anderson sponsored post of the day.

  1. I like them, but should I get them long enough to get cuffed or leave uncuffed?

  2. Anon @2:36- It all depends on what you like. In my case I get an inseam that leaves some extra fabric to get a nice cuff. You can always shorten pants...

  5. It's always the same shit with you on this blog. All you do is cover a few brands and talk about what they have on their sites for sale. I don't want to hear about LL Bean, Brooks Brothers, J. Crew, Mark McNairy, and Sid Mashburn anymore. It wouldn't kill you to switch it up a little bit more.

  6. Anon @5:29 - Damn, my bad. I'll refund your subscription as soon as the proper channels review your complaint.

What do you want to hear about? You know you can always read one of the other couple hundred men's style blogs out there.

Also, out of curiosity, how long have you been a reader for?

  7. I've been visiting this blog since April. And if I could have all the time back that I wasted reading this junk then that would truly be a blessing. I can get emails from all the brands listed above to notify me when there is a sale going on thank you very much.

  8. Anon @5:37- It seems as if you could have come to this "epiphany" in a week. Something may be wrong with the decision making part of your brain. It was nice knowing you. Peace out.

  10. Haterz gonna hate. He reminds me of Comic Book Guy. After watching a movie, complains, but watches the movie 7 more times.
