The Rake: Damned Dapper

Leave it to The Rake and Ivy historian Christian Chensvold to get all academic over "go to hell" style.  The piece deals with "the origins, philosophy, and specifics of the 'go-to-hell' aesthetic - the conservative WASP's colourful, critter-filled creative outlet."  The fact that they even used "colourful" vs. "colorful" tells you pretty much everything you need to know here.  This will probably be the best thing you read today (not on Sart Inc of course) so check it out on your lunch break or just tell your boss to "go to hell" and do it now...sorry for that one, I just couldn't help myself.  On a separate note, I'm particularly feeling the first and last looks complete with tie tucks, candy paint pants and expert belt styling.

  1. Ivy-Style updates make my day. History+clothes=One happy reader. Clothing history is something we all need a little more of.
