Hmm, interesting. I would be most interested to know how the leather blucher moc differs from the one that is currently available. The toe box is still much more square than Bean blucher mocs of olde. I do like the Ranger mocs, though.
ReplyDeleteahhh man, you're really making me wish I hadn't picked these up the other day: http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/MensBrowse/Men_Shop_By_Category/shoes/casualbootschukkas/PRDOVR~13509/13509.jsp
ReplyDeletewhy get ll bean, or anything for that matter, as long as Sperry top siders exist??

How does the brown leather blucher moc differ from the regular version?
ReplyDeleteTrip/James- Probably a different leather would be my guess.
ReplyDeleteDmitriy- These are moccasins on camp soles. Sperry makes boat shoes on a boat sole. They are not the same thing.
Much thanks to you Lawrence, and to Ms. Brooks. I am having a very difficult time deciding whether to go with the ranger or blucher moc. At the same time, I'm also having trouble deciding whether to go with leather or suede!
ReplyDeleteJames - I think these have a different sole compared to the current LL Bean blucher mocs (current ones seem to have slits on the bottom of the soles), and as Lawrence mentioned, these probably have different leather as well.
ReplyDeleteWell done. I want an affordable quality leather moc from an esteemed brand that I would want to keep as a versatile option in my wardrobe arsenal. Nail on the head. Now, which one is the question?
ReplyDeleteWow, nice and affordable. The suede bluchers are a nice touch, but something about the grey color that doesn't sit right with me. Maybe they're better in person. If only they had brick soles like the Quoddy for South Willard offerings...
ReplyDeleteWhile Quoddy is still my holy grail for casual footwear, these are a (relatively) more affordable option. I wonder how the quality compares? Maine vs. Maine grudgematch!
ReplyDeleteAny chance at seeing some better close-ups of the watches?
ReplyDeleteRanger Mocs for me. Size 13 I hope. These I like better than the Quoddy version.
ReplyDeleteare they handsewn in Maine? does not specify
ReplyDeleteListeless runt- I am assuming that they are handswen in Eastort, Maine considering the names of the models.
ReplyDeleteI actually highly doubt these are sewn in Maine. The Casco Bay boat shoes have the Maine name, but they're assembled overseas.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I'm still in for a pair of Ranger mocs.
^ I could be wrong, though.
