Brooks Brothers S/S Arrivals

Sartorially Inclined, where the sartorial nonsense never stops!  With "fun" and patchwork on the brain I couldn't help but swing by one of America's oldest and most respected clothiers on my search for some more wonderfully polarizing gear.

I realize not everyone can get down with this kind of stuff and despite continually shouting about both the classic and understated from the rooftops, who am I to deny a little ridiculousness?  And when I say ridiculous I mean it in the best way possible.  Certain situations and moods are just begging for a great, big ol' middle finger worn across the chest and who really cares about actually being rich when you can just look the part so perfectly (though it does help when buying from BB)?  Continue your quest to become the best dressed Wedding Crashers extra here.

Attn: COE 2.0

My good friend and fellow blogger Paul has launched the reincarnation of his fantastic blog, Components of Enthusiasm.  COE is one of my favorite sites on the internet and with its fresh face lift for 2010 continues to grow into something very special.  Paul loves to keep things clean and the new COE does just that and then some.  I'll let the man explain in his own words, "A healthy dose of whitespace, large and vibrant photography, a monochromatic grey color scheme with red accents, and classic typography all combine to form the design elements that I’ve always envisioned COE to eventually have."  Check it out if you haven't already and most importantly, get inspired.

Next Level: Patchwork Oxford

Mark McNairy has called himself an "un-designer" before and his patchwork oxford shirts speak to this notion of reinterpreting classic Anglo-American styles.  It's no secret Mark is my favorite designer and one of the reasons why lies in his uncanny ability to un-design the hell out of everything.  Anyone can design or produce an oxford shirt, in fact you can probably do it in the comfort of your own home, but it takes a certain vision to take things next level.  And that my friends is really what this post is all about...something seriously next level. 'Nuf said.

More McNairy Monks

You've probably already seen Jake Davis' post on his new Mark McNairy double monk cap toes, but if you want to peep more McNairy goodness you've come to the right place (I guess you could call this post the definition of sloppy seconds).

A while back I emailed Mark inquiring about the awesome double monks seen here.  I was informed that while those particular shoes were currently unavailable an alternate model was.  These particular double monks lacked the rad vamp, but were still pretty awesome in their own right.  Anyhow, check out some more pics (the last one courtesy of my good friend Jeremy) of some seriously badass Mark McNairy double monk strap cap toes...

Tie One On For Nicer Days Pt. II

Due in part to my irresponsible lack of bow ties in the previous post and a reminder from Wiener Girls (nice username btw) to check out the new stock at The Cordial Churchman, here are some more crazy cheap and crazy awesome S/S neckwear options. At $23-ish a pop I may have to snag around, I don't know, 50 of these.

Tie One On For Nicer Days

One of the easiest and cheapest ways I've found to get any kit ready for S/S is to throw on some neckwear in your favorite warm weather fabric.  Unless you are really jonesin' for a wardrobe overhaul, all you need to do is pick up a few ties or bowties to get yourself ready for when that nice weather hits.  If you rock a white oxford and chinos on the reg. you're pretty much 90% of the way there already.  Tie on some madras, seersucker or gingham and your uniform is locked up for the next 6 months as far as I am concerned.

For the sartorial novice who isn't ready for some "go to hell" pants or shirting these kind of ties are a perfect introductory course in both fabric and color.  Everyone from the lowest common denominators (i.e. J. Crew) to the exclusive gear hubs stock up on S/S neckwear so all you have to do is find a price point you can run with.  Just remember to keep that tie width under 3" or under and you're set. Check out some options below (madras being my favorite of the bunch) complete with click through links because I work (blog?) hard for the money. Tie one on folks. Tie one on strong.

[Pictured: L.L. Bean Signature Khaki Suit via The Momentum of Failure available 3/15 for $214.]

Will from The Momentum of Failure has gotten his hands on a new picture of the L.L. Bean Signature khaki suit which will be available March 15 when the full collection launches.  By this point you all know about L.L. Bean Signature and how it has the potential to be a real game changer in affordable style.  All that's left is waiting to get a good look at the actual product and getting a handle on price points to see if it will truly make the waves the blogosphere expects it to.  By the looks of the suit and price above we seem to be in good hands and if you're not yet sold on a summer suit you can read my thoughts on the matter here.

[Editor's Note: The suit will be sold as separates. The Jacket is $155 and the pants are $59.]
