Three Woolrich posts in 24 hours may seem like overkill, but with the Gilt sale tomorrow I figured what better way to get into the right mindset then highlight some of my favorite pieces. Since the actually products going up tomorrow are still shrouded in typical Gilt mystery fashion I am going to go out on a limb and assume were talking Woolrich Woolen Mills exclusively. Don't quote me on this, but if this is the case we are all sure in for a treat. WWM is some exclusive stuff that usually runs around the $200 mark at it's cheapest, so were probably looking at $60 and up. Since WWM is too cool for a webstore, I checked the high end online haberdasheries looking for some the best F/W '09 gear. For your own pre-game warm-up check out Woolrich W.M. at
Odin NY,
Context,
My-Wardrobe and
Oi Pollio.
Cruiser Shirt Chambray...
$170
Maine Guide Jacket Black Melton Wool...

Navy and Green Check Detachable Hood Gilet...

Navy American Birdseye Crew Knit...

Moral of the story is that if you're looking for great fitting (thanks Japan), heritage pieces you should definitely stop by the Gilt sale tomorrow. While the above items might not end up making the final cut, you should at least now know what you're getting yourself into. I know this stuff is pricey, but you're paying a designer premium, getting great quality stuff and of course it's all about the details (just look at the pockets on the field jacket). See you guys at noon.

that's cool, I am excited about this sale, although I am pretty spent for f/w stuff already. too bad my wife doesn't read your blog and pick this up for me.
ReplyDeleteAaron- I guess our only option is to force your wife to read my blog.
ReplyDeleteI really like the Cruiser shirt...well done.
ReplyDeleteFYI- WWM does have a site- http://www.woolrichwoolenmillsproduction.com/
ReplyDeleteHappy hunting at high noon.
Michael- I know they have I site. What they are lacking is an actual webstore where they sell their line.
ReplyDeleteGreat picks!
ReplyDeleteI love that black wool jacket.
The sale was pretty slamming. I didn't see it until 1:30, but I wasn't buying anyways. If I was I would have been all over that chambray pen jacket.
ReplyDeleteConor- Yeah man, the sale was bonkers. Stuff was gone in less than 2 minutes or so. I ended up grabing some authentic cargo pants (the subject of an upcoming post) and a great nautical inspired hoody. Definitely one of the best Guilt sales they've ever put on.
ReplyDeleteI'm either too old, too cheap or both.
ReplyDeleteMr. Trad- The sale was great and would have fit in with your frugality quite well. As far as age, I had no idea there was a limit on plaid and chambray.
ReplyDeleteI picked up some stuff;
ReplyDeletethe nautical hoody, the red/blue striped nautical shirt, the CHambray Pen Jkt, the Glen Plaid Upland (though it's a bit small)
I ordered yesterday, and it already arrived, though I am in NYC>
