Thomas Riley of P.JOHNSON Tailors gives us an Aussie's look at sartorial summer etiquette. Geographical differences aside, pretty much everything in this video is gospel as far as I am concerned. I know S/S is probably the last thing on your mind right now, but I'll be damned if this this isn't a primer for a dapper summer. Shout out to the great Ethan Desu for tipping me off to this one.

I lived in Australia for several years. He makes the good observation that "Australian men tend to dress like kids", but completely misses the connection between wearing shorts with a suit jacket and the school uniforms that most Australians wear throughout their childhood. That lands him slightly lower on the sartorial awareness scale than AC DC's Angus Young.
ReplyDeleteShorts and a jacket? Oh no.

ReplyDeleteI'm just not sold on shorts with a jacket. I love Thomas' jacket in the video though. Nice light grey.
ReplyDeleteliving in Australia, this a great. was growing tired of reading about winter when its 40 degrees celsius (104 F)
ReplyDeleteas for the shorts and a blazer, its better than board shorts and a tee.
dont knock progress.
What a moron. But then Aussies...
ReplyDeleteThe jackets are really nice. Great tips for some summer looks, although I don't think I can pull off a jacket and some shorts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the tips. I'm sure all of these look great. I guess it also depends on how you carry your outfits and confidence is a total booster.
