A while back we had a pretty big debate on washed denim. It was parts dogmatic, rude, impassioned and, overall, downright fantastic. For those of you who absolutely hate washed denim you probably want to close out this tab - I'm not all that keen on bringing back that whole beautiful disaster for a sequel. But, for those of you interested in washed denim, or maybe even looking to scoop up a pair, let me direct you to Tres Bien Shop's restock of Our Legacy's stone selvedge denim. These jeans are the best washed denim not named Cucinelli. The stone washed, red selvedge fabric looks really good in person and the jeans are in that great slim-straight cut that looks good on pretty much everyone. And how can we talk about these jeans without mentioning that handmade patch? Washed jeans are virtually a year round option, but I'm inclined to think they work better in the S/S in both the functional and aesthetic sense. Now, that doesn't mean your new Our Legacy denim is going to sit packed away in your closet for 6 months or anything like that. I simply wanted to clarify its relative strong points. No matter how you feel about washed denim, I think we can all agree that Barack could use a new pair.

Bleu De Paname Contrast Pocket Denim
After talking briefly about Bleu de Paname previously and getting a feel for the brand their gear is now on sale over at Tres Bien Shop. The standout for me has to be the Pantalon Carotte 13 oz denim. What sets this denim apart from the droves of denim already being forced on you via the interwebs are the oxford cloth contrast pockets. I realize this is a little overstated as far as classic, no frills denim is concerned, but I think cool details like contrast pockets inject a much needed sense of humor into the oh so nerdy and orthodox world of denimheads. However, unlike the model in the Tres Bien product shot, I would not wear these with the Bleu de Paname oxford cut from the same exact cloth (pattern matching could be a bitch on that one, not to mention you'd look like your assless chaps, I mean, jeans had strategic cutouts). Imagine these jeans with a white tee. That's more of the look I'm thinking of. When one part of your kit is a little "out there" like these jeans it would be advantageous for you to do your best to keep the rest under wraps so to speak. Honestly, part of me is really digging these because I know they are going to force some forum goers to think outside of the box, but I feel okay with that knowing Bleu de Paname takes their craft extremely seriously and is producing high quality gear.

Bleu de Paname
I just learned of Bleu de Paname thanks to Junctioned. The French brand, started in 2008, develops and manufactures everything in France and is a "revisiting of the work uniform with a contemporary vision" via mixing of the functional and aesthetic. The gear will be available soon at Tres Bien Shop and Oi Polloi, but in the meantime get a feel for the brand with this pretty rad video (it starts slow, but picks up) and some S/S lookbook pics below.

Lusting After: Diemme Roccia Vet Boot
Diemme is a 2 decade old Italian brand making some of the finest boots across the pond. Their Roccia Vet boot has just hit Tres Bien Shop in limited quantities and is one of the finest hiking style boots I have ever seen. Coming with 2 sets of contrasting lacing, colored suede, an orange-ish Vibram sole (reminiscent of a red brick sole) and authentic hiking hardware this boot is the real deal for both hikers and lifestyle fans alike. They are made in Italy and produced in limited qualities hence the $330 pricetag, but the one of a kind looks and craftsmanship more than justify the cost.

Attn: Mark McNairy Red Brick Soul at Tres Bien Shop
If you are new to the blog and want to know how I feel about Mark McNairy the short story is that he is my favorite designer (the long story can be found my clicking his tag at the bottom of the post). We've all seen a ton of McNairy's Red Brick Soul collection and Tres Bien Shop is currently stocking a bunch of makeups, some new and some old. Lots of RBS shoes I've seen have gone the suede route and I like how Tres Bien not only has this covered, but is also stocking a couple in scotch grain/pebbled leather. Also, check out the hunting laces on the camel buck - sick, right? You can buy all of these here and if for whatever reason you want to dress like me then you should snatch the blue suede chukkas.
