I've been a fan of slimmed up belts for a while now. My favorite belt is arguably a 1" brown leather belt from J. Crew that I got as a gift about a year ago. It's my belief that if you're wearing a tailored kit your belt should be tailored as well. Why break things up with a cumbersome accessory if you can easily avoid it? For my money the best slim belts being made right now are from Tory Leather. Tory Leather is a company with a rich history of providing equestrian accessories in all shapes and sizes, belts notwithstanding. All of Tory Leather's goods are made right here in the USA from some of the finest "domestic English bridle leather that is drum dyed at the tannery and hot stuffed with waxes and oils." That's quite the descriptor, so let me break it down for you - your belt will, without a doubt, start looking better the second after you start wearing it regularly. One might think that domestic leather goods that find their origin in the UK probably cost about three times what you are willing to pay for them. Well, you're wrong. All of Tory Leather's belts come in at under 30 bones. That's right, these belts cost less than some over the counter drugs. And since they won't help you make meth in your basement you don't need to show ID to get them. Tory Leather is a tough company to track down, but a few equestrian suppliers have them in stock. Some of your favorite men's shops and brands already use Tory Leather for their private label belts. I won't put those guys on blast because I'm not a douchebag. Just know you can always get the real deal straight from the source. Or from the same place your niece looks at pictures of ponies.

I love everything on this blog, but have to say that I think thin belts are a bit feminine. Leave them for dog leashes and ladies, I say.
ReplyDeleteAwesome find. $30?? That's a steal! Just placed my order for a snaffle bit belt in the light brown.
ReplyDeleteYou need to stop watching Breaking Bad while blogging.
ReplyDeleteThe stirrup belt is sweet
ReplyDeleteDude...you are the man. Do you mind if I repost to my blog?
ReplyDeleteJ.P. - Haha, thanks man. Go for it.
ReplyDeleteActually, you are kind of a douchebag--linguistically, anyway. Are you still in middle school? If you aren't, you really ought to drop the childish cliches from your writing: "bones," "kicks," "steeze," and other inane bits of nonsense that make so many of your posts unreadable.
ReplyDeleteFor me, your blog is how so many guys read Playboy: pictures only. Is that your intention?
Standard English Lover- I am the foremost middle school men's style blogger as it stands today!
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you focus on the writing on your own blog and stop worrying about mine. Just a thought.
i like that these belts have four belt holes. ill rock the second tightest- until i hit up the O.G. then ill have to move the the last one just to walk out of that place with my pants up. shoot, i might even bring some suspenders just in case. you feel me, my hipstas?
ReplyDeleteJust to clarify i only use the suspenders when i do the Lasagna Classico and the Capellini di Mare. so, unless i feel like gaining 10 ell bees in one sitting ill just rock the 4th belt hole.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome post.
Great find, L.A.S. Two questions:
ReplyDelete—What do you think is the ideal width on these? Wondering if the 3/4" might be *too* slim.
—Do you know which is the paler color, the Havana or Oakbark?
I'm too busy making money with my books to waste my time writing a blog. I generally like what you cover, but your voice is simply too immature.
ReplyDeleteIMHO, of course.
$30 for these seems a steal...great find..I'll have to get a few...now I don't want to sound like I'm splitting hairs...but I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how durable are these belts?
ReplyDeleteAlthough the content is great, your immature voice is the main reason I read this blog. Haters gonna hate.
ReplyDeleteThe width of the belt should match the size of the loops on your trousers.
ReplyDeletenice post love it
