First Look: Ovadia & Sons S/S 2011

Sart Inc introduced Ovadia & Sons a while back and I am now pleased to offer you guys the first look at their extremely impressive debut collection.  I was lucky enough to meet the Ovadia brothers and get hands on with the collection a few weeks ago and can say, without a doubt, that this is a brand that should most definitely be on your radar (if not for those cargos in picture #2 alone).  Utilizing the finest materials and construction techniques the world has to offer on top of an innate understand of proportion and cut, Ovadia & Sons is currently my favorite new brand in menswear.  With NYFW showcasing some slight S/S stagnation this is a much needed breathe of fresh air - finely tailored fresh air.

  6. I like the general aesthetic of these photos, but I just don't share the same enthusiasm for double-breasted suit jackets...

  7. I've been to 25 shows this fashion week. Nothing comes close to this stuff.

    Looks highly wearable and timeless.

  8. I went to their presentation last week, stuff looked great and dig their overall aesthetic - sort of like Lapo meets Abercrombie & Kent. Doesn't come cheap though - suits are ~$2k and shirts are $300. Not sure where they source their fabrics (beyond "European fabrics from the finest mills") but it all looked & felt great.

O&S is also on the velvet slipper train - sensing a moment with those.

    - I kind of see that. A younger version. But the pricing is actually reasonable. Looks very nice.

  12. I agree on the PL and i agree that its younger , i still cant afford it :(

  13. Fuck cargo pants. They will always be whack no matter how skinny they are cut or how much they cost.

  15. This stuff is fashionable, but not in the transient sense like most of the goods I've seen showcased this week.

    This stuff is TIMELESS!

  16. I'd say that teal contrast spread collar shirt is probably the hottest single item from this set, followed by the tan windowpane suit and the orange pants.

They're definitely appealing RL style to the younger generation, much like Hackett and Morris have been doing this season. It will be interesting to see if all this reinstated interest in Americana actually sticks around...

  17. MY THOUGHTS:

I've been running around all fashion week covering menswear. Nothing is even close to a solid collection as this. I missed the O&S event last week and I heard the clothing and display/props was insane.

Think about how hard it is to make fresh, fun, clean, wearable clothing for Spring! This stuff is just perfect.

Exciting addition to the mens world to say the least. WELCOME.

PS - ALSO SAW A PIC OF THEM IN THE NEW GQ!

  18. Wow, those bike pics sure are douchey. Hobo bars or not.

  19. Those bikes suck! Will somebody please get these guys on proper townies?! The horrid bikes ruin the great suits.

  20. the bikes do suck !
but the suits make up for them ... i would wear everything here btw.

  21. Woah i want that windowpane suit !!

  22. BSNYC! The clothing is very dapper. The bikes, on the other hand, not so much.
