The Born Supremacy

Whenever my buddy comes back from one of his frequent business trips to Stockholm the question never is, "Did you stop by Rose & Born?"  In fact, the question isn't even, "How was Rose & Born?"  No, it's more along the lines of, "How incredible was Rose & Born?"  Yeah, that pretty much sums up what they're working with over there.  Upon return of his most recent jaunt over to Sweden my buddy slipped me R&B's F/W 2010 lookbook and I'll be damned if these guys aren't simply operating on another level.  See for yourself.

  6. What's next level is the value/cost ratio for what you see. This lookbook doesn't do the collection justice but what's great about rose & born is you get really good stile inglese design, manufactured in Italy at an insanely reasonable price point. Wool/cashmere ties are $65 while Beautiful wool and wool/cashmere sportcoats run around $600. The construction is on par with Cucinelli and many other Italian makers and their taste is, in my opinion, superior.

  7. The first two anons need to have their eyesight checked.

I enjoyed a few elements, namely the skull and bones braces, herringbone tie, the driving outfit, the paisley pattern matching, and finally wearing a watchcap with a chesterfield.

  8. J. Crew sells herringbone ties.

  9. Not wool/cashmere unlined 7 fold ones for $65. Comparing J. Crew to Rose & Born is like comparing a bowl of pasta at Mario Batali's Otto to Chef Boyardee.

  10. Not sure about the scan quality. Can you scan it again?

Just kidding. Solid work, great looks. Tackar.

  11. The R&B tie would actually cost me around $2,000, as I'd have to fly to Stockholm to buy it.

  12. They don't even have an online web store! What a croc! Just wasted my time with this stuff if I can't even buy a tie for $2000.

  13. Yeah, they're a mystery store. Bloggers love to jerk-off to their look books them but nobody's ever even seen, let alone touched or tried on, a single article of their clothing.

  14. Long live the double monk. I find all elements inspiring and the attention to little details makes it outstanding. It's the low key details like watch band matching pocket square that gives this an A+ in my book.

  15. Wow, reading that title I did not expect a post about one of my favorite stores in my hometown. They make great quality stuff for reasonable prices, I haven't been to their store since late summer, though, so this is my first look at their recent stuff.

Also, I should note that the shoes are probably C&J as that's what they sell in store.

  16. Laters about the tie's, let's talk about the fine danish pastry that is wearing them!!.
Mind you them skandie's are all a bit cold - the kind of people who smile when kitten's are killed.
although i'd smash his back doors in!

  17. I want to touch his hair and stand on his shoulders. How do you know he's Danish, he looks a little asian to me, yes, an asian accountant with expensive ties. Pretty
