3Sixteen S/S 2010 Lookbook

I've talked about why I love 3sixteen before and I am happy to share their new S/S 2010 lookbook (shoutouts to Shimon).  I'll let 3sixteen do all the talking...

"We are proud to present our Spring 2010 lookbook, shot on location at the beautiful Ace Hotel New York. Dubbed 'The country's most original new hotel' by the New York Times, the lobby of Ace Hotel was the perfect backdrop for our models, playing its own character in the story we aimed to portray. Our models (none of whom are professionals) and our photographers are all a part of the 3sixteen family, embodying a passion about our product that cannot be artificially manufactured.

Our Spring 2010 range continues our focus on supporting domestic businesses. Shirting fabrics are sourced and sewn together in New York along with our handmade ties. Leather for our footwear comes from the world-famous Horween Tannery in Chicago and is then assembled in Maine. Selvedge denim is flown in from Japan and expertly assembled with heavy duty hardware here in the US. The Spring pieces will begin shipping in late February to all of your favorite retailers and will also be available for sale on our webstore."

Your New Favorite Winter Coat

The new 3sixteen duffel coat hit the airwaves late last week and you may have seen it making its rounds on the blogosphere.  Andrew Chen and his NYC based brand have been doing big things for a while and their new duffel coat may be the tipping point.  I've talked about duffel coats for a while as they are my personal choice for outerwear and the 3sixteen version has to be the hands down MVP.

The details and fit on this are unmatched and I may have no choice but to grab one for myself when it hits their online shop (a retail price of $440 should be announced shortly).  The coat is 24 oz. of tough Varsity Melton wool and comes clad with custom leather and wood toggles.  The fact that you can grab this in a classic camel colorway alone may even be its biggest selling point.  Sart Inc's personal highlights include the shoulder patches and the uniquely cut pocket flaps. Check out the pics below courtesy of my man Shimon.  If this isn't your new favorite winter coat then I'm not sure if we are even on remotely the same page.

Wake Up Call: 3sixteen

I'll admit it.  I've been sleeping on NYC based brand 3sixteen.  I've casually checked out their lookbooks before, but never really sat down and went through their stuff properly.  Luckily for me, one of my new favorite bloggers, Mr. Shimon Sasaki is currently stationed with the brand and has forced a much needed wake up call.  One quick breeze through the online store and you'll see why these guys are a brand to watch.  From the immaculate denim (both selvedge and nonselvedge) to the utility shirts with asymmetrical flap pockets these goods are the definition of lust worthy.  With everyone forming their holiday wishlists I can't think of a better time to wise up to some of the best apparel in the marketplace.  I could literally highlight every single piece from these guys (check out the entire 3sixteen fit below), it's that good.  Take a gander at the store or one of their stockists so you don't end up looking as foolish as me.
