S.E.H Kelly F/W 2010

More brands/designers should follow S.E.H Kelly's lead. As in, there is nothing wrong with putting out a smaller collection comprised of great clothes.  There is something to be said about those purposely releasing less goods to ensure nothing is sacrificed in terms of materials and construction.  If the gear happens to look great on top of that then you are doing something right.  And what looks great? How about slim pleated trousers, club collar overshirts, and twill cutaway collar shirts.  In this case everything exists within a framework where simplicity trumps all.  No crazy prints. No pockets for the sake of having more pockets than all your friends.  I'll take clean lines and refinement over that shit all day every day.  It appears S.E.H Kelly feels the same way.  There's an equally strong and signature aesthetic, which I appreciate.  It's workwear, but with a focus on tailoring thanks to the brand's Saville Row pedigree.   I don't know of many brands walking that fine line today, which makes everything all the more impressive.  And seriously, did you see those trousers? That right there is the real deal with grown man appeal.

S.E.H Kelly S/S 2010

When we last left S.E.H Kelly I had hopefully brought your attention to fine new brand out of England and another dude who refuses to use a period after the third abbreviated letter in his name.  S/S 2010 follows in the footsteps of what we've seen already in that the colletion stays extremely well edited and focuses on a serious attention to detail.  In the case of S.E.H Kelly it's all about the manufacturing.  From the actual process of making the clothes down to the vibe it gives off, British manufacturing is the theme.  There are only 5 pieces for S/S 2010, but each comes together to form a true cohesive idea - not bad for FIVE pieces when you think about it.  Everything can be worn together or separately and that's the beauty of it all.  It also doesn't hurt that the fit of each item appears to be as on point as you can get.  S.E.H Kelly may just be on the comeup, but it seems to me that they not only know where they've came from, but where they are going.

Stumbled Across: S.E.H Kelly

I haven't seen a lot from English brand S.E.H Kelly, but so far so good.  Everything is made in England and a cornerstone of the brand is a serious respect for the British clothing industry.  S.E.H Kelly's pedigree extends back to Saville Row (expertly tailored clothes on the horizon?) which is particularly interesting considering the serious workwear feel of the collection - The vibe I'm getting so far is almost a Scandinavian minimalist Engineered Garments.  The F/W 2010 collection is influenced heavily by traditional English workwear, shop-worker and factory attire - in the soon to be released autumn lookbook, entitled Book No. 1, "particular use has been made of a soft but hardy cashmere and wool from the Cotswolds, and hard-wearing cotton drills and twills from a mill in Lancashire."  You can follow S.E.H. Kelly on Twitter and as more information and clothing is released I'll be sure to highlight all the goodness on Sart Inc.
